Battlezone Two Bit Circus

Rebellion received a special contract from Two Bit Circus to create an interactive VR game/ride hybrid for their LA located arcade theme park.

The game ran on Vive hardware but featured a special haptic chair that used hydraulics to match the pitch, roll and elevation of the ingame tanks. Rather than a gamepad or keyboard input was provided through two joysticks with a pair of "triggers".

I redesigned the game to support this new hardware and the more casual style of player that would be engaging with this version of Battlezone. I removed the various penalties and the roguelike nature of the main game to fit the experience into a 15 minute slot (regarded as the sweet spot by Two Bit Circus). I also rebuilt the intro and boss levels (deemed the most spectacular during our demoing of Battlezone to the public) joining them together into a new and unique experience for Two Bit Circus' Customers.
