Sniper Elite 5




 

During development of Sniper Elite 5 the Covid 19 pandemic significantly delayed the project and staff from other projects were pulled in to try and get it back on track.

I volunteered my writing team to assist with any dialogue or narrative tasks. Our offer was gratefully received as their external writer had just left the project. Over a two week period my team and I wrote the majority of the AI Barks so they they could be passed through localization immediately and recorded with the voice actors who had already been booked in for voice over sessions.

While my team worked on the German Officers and Scientists. I wrote 9000 barks for the hardened "Elite" Nazi soldiers; the German Elite Troopers, Snipers, Sappers, Mortar crews and other special units.

Later in development we were called on again and took over the work of writing all dialogue required for the levels: German soldier to soldier conversations, Karl Fairburne's VO and other incidental dialogues. I took ownership of the first level in the game "Coastline" and worked with the level's designer to complete all of the required dialogue in time for localization and audio recording.

We also wrote the collectable titles and descriptions for our levels, creating fake biographies for pieces of fictional art the player could collect. We split the work evenly between our 3 person team and completed it all well ahead of schedule. I then personally wrote a further 2000 lines of barks, incidental and gameplay dialogue for the game's version of Adolf Hitler in the centerpiece "Kill Hitler" DLC.
