Boltgun

Boltgun is a retro styled "Boomer Shooter" set in the 40k Universe. I joined the project at the end of it's pre-production period and took over as Lead Designer to enable the previous Lead Designer to to step into his new role as Auroch Digital's Creative Director.

Tasks I have undertook involved designing the behaviors and attacks for the enemies, building and populating levels with content, balancing and adjusting the weaponry, building tools for use in our level population, writing the narrative including cutscenes and in game dialogue and represented the design department in day to day decision making.

I managed a team of designers and oversaw their tasking, personal development and the quality of their work.

I also worked closely with Games Workshop's licensing department to ensure adherence to their IP pillars and communicated at the lead level with our publisher Focus Home Interactive to ensure their expectations for the project were being met.

I also captured gameplay footage for use in the game's reveal trailer, wrote blog posts for the playstation blog

and took the game to PAX East to demo to the press and public.

Boltgun is a passion project for me as a long time Warhammer fan and veteran action game player and developer.
